What is the NDIS and how can we help?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government scheme to help people with a disability find the support they need.

Our highly skilled NDIS staff will talk through your goals and any special needs with you and your support person. NDIS will then create a plan that could include training, skill-building and leisure activities. It may also include modifications to your home to help you move around more easily.

The NDIS plan gives you the flexibility to choose your service provider and when you receive those supports. You will also be able to choose from a wide range of services and take part more fully in your community.
NDIS works in a similar way to Medicare with the costs of providing certain services to people with disability shared by the community through our taxes.

Kharisma Care Support

Kharisma Care takes a holistic approach to providing support for families, children, and adults. Our team of qualified and experienced psychologists, speech pathologists, and occupational therapists provides therapeutic and behaviour support services in locations across NSW.

We support individuals across the allied health spectrum, from managing mental health to providing behaviour support plans or building and improving relationships. Our service delivery is flexible and available to all community members, face to face or via telehealth.

We are a registered NDIS provider and respond to all referrals within two business days. You can also enquire over the phone at 0478 966 523

Pricing arrangements and Price Limits

Assistance in Supported Independent Living support items are in the Assistance with Daily Life support category, listed in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

This set of supports provide assistance with, or supervision of, tasks of daily life in a shared living environment, with a focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible.

The support is provided to each person living in the shared arrangement in accordance with their need.

The Supported independent living operational guideline provides detail about the types of services that are included and excluded from SIL.

We do not consider vacancy costs when we make a SIL funding decision. Providers must not increase the price of supports or claim additional funds from other participant’s plans to cover vacancy periods.

Service agreements should include how providers manage vacancies.

Please refer to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and Support Catalogue for more information.

View the Supported independent living guideline for information on vacancies in shared living arrangements.

If I have an NDIS plan, can I still choose my own services?

Yes. You have control over your own plan. The NDIS provides money to certain approved service providers. If you have an NDIS plan, this means you don’t need to pay for these services. Kharisma Care Disability Services is an approved provider under NDIS.
